So I heard this song like 4 times this summer. What's he using for effects on the jam after the verses. Parked wah with whammy or vibe mixed in?

Any thoughts.

Def not a parked wah, Trey never does that. I've seen him forget to turn off the wah and then hammer his foot down a moment later but yea....

Not sure which version you want us to listen to.... but on the 10/31/13 jam he using the univibe and the 'whale' setting (2nd down) from the whammy pedal.

Lately I've been listening to the
Alpharetta 555. It's in my iphone. Also on the letterman 555 you can hear he's got what sounds like a 2 octave up? mixed in with what sounds to me like wah.

Ah, ok. I have that SBD too, I'll check it out.

I hear wah during the intro but for the jam it's all 'whale' from the whammy again.

I think you guys nailed it.  My Phish tribute (Pardon Me, Doug) just started playing this song and I use TS9 + wah and occasional univibe and occasional whammy.  Depends on the mood.

Signal Path: Garmopat-modded Vox V847 wah > Emma Discumbobulator > TS808 silver > TS9 silver > Ross Compressor (grey) > Alesis Microverb (reverb) > Mesa Boogie Mark III with custom 2x12 AO cabinet (speakers: Tone Tubby & Emminence Commonwealth).

Loop 1: Whammy II > Nova Delay
Loop 2: Alesis Microverb (reverse) > Ibanez DM2000 > CAE Super Trem > Black Cat Vibe
Loop 3 Boomerang+
Tuner: Boss TU-3

Effects not in use:  Voce Spin II (leslie sim), Boss DD6, Digitech RPM-1 (leslie sim), Analogman Orange Squeeze, Keeley 4knob Comp, Ernie Ball Volume Pedal, Super Hard On (boost), Ibanez AW7 (autowah), Denelectro French Fries (autowah) - If interested in any of these PM me.  Always willing to deal.

I think I may have stumbled open on it.

I've been messing with the settings on my black cat vibe. I have the speed turned down pretty good and the intensity down under half way/ maybe 1/3.

This gave me that thick sound and with the whammy 2nd down and it gives that real gritty tone.
