Post by: masterfuol on October 27, 2009, 06:32:09 PM
greetings everyone, first time poster, long time lurker. I was playing Birds of a Feather recently and realized I have no idea what the key is or even what scale to play during the song. is there anyone that knows or could point me in the right direction??

Thanks in advance

C minor.  From there, your options are a-plenty.  Dorian sounds different from Phrygian which sound different from Aeolian which sounds different from a plain pentatonic minor.  Go nuts.  And the best advice - tear down walls when wailing, meaning use some basic foundation as structure, but never have too many rules or laws that govern what notes you can or cannot hit.  They're ALL available, it's just in how you use them.  BOAF is defintely a fun song to rage to.

Bwaaaaaaaahahahahaaha!  That is friggin' hillarious, but sooooo true!  I've almost passed out many a time after raging for a while and then realizing I hadn't taken a breath in far too long.  Great point, though!
