I love the Ernie Ball Cobalt 11's!!  Just tried them recently, and they are the bee's knees!!

I really like EXL110 the orange Dad's for some reason. Cheap, consistent when intonating, bright. We get them for cost at the place I work at so that's a plus, too. I've noticed with some DR's that they are really tough to intonate, for example. Haven't really used other brands though besides the EXL and DR's. DR's are also nice though besides the drawback (IMHO) noted above.

Standard 10's -46's

Steel core with wound Nickel, I tried some DR's and I don't think I'm a fan of the Tite-fits Trey uses, they die real fast.... so I see why he can afford to use them. I haven't used Ernie Ball, GHS, D'Addario (except for acoustic strings) in years... I have been buying cases of Xavier strings for a few years now.

I'd like to use pure Nickel but they're expensive... but at least I'm not a bassist.

Played most - really digging gibson flatwound 12's on electrics right now. Super smooth and still have plenty of brightness if you dig into them.

Ernie Ball 10's are my favorites for acoustics at the moment.

No Nice Guy

These flatwound 10's I found at a local shop.  They're incredible.

Interesting. I used DR Tite Fit 10s for a while and was having intonation issues too. I happened across two discussions regarding the fact that the machines in their factory are old and might be producing strings with inconsistencies, resulting in intonation issues. I just switched back to regular Ernie Ball 10-46 and I think they are just fine.

I'm thinking about trying flatwounds. Any brand recommendations?
