Here are the lyrics with chords...hope this helps

Intro Dm7 --> C (play the C non barred and you are golden)

Dm7
The sea is so wide
             Am7
And the boat is so small
            Gm7
And the sun burns my skin
             Dm7             C-->Dm7
In this Liquid Time

Dm7
Time is a treasure here
               Am7
Cause' it flows in every direction
                  Gm7
I know you understand
                      Dm7
But might not recognize
               Am7       Gm7                    Dm7 --> C --> Dm7
...that it's easier to look at things this way

Dm7                                   Am7    Gm7
And though i know it was a lie that got me here
The stars at night are moving
        G7
In a heavenly dance
          Bd                                        F
I can taste the wind, smell the rain, see the sand
                  C
...it's not so far away

Chorus
          G>A>Bb                F
Oh, ooooooooh sad, sad one
                             C
I feel you growing dim
               Dm7
And the clouds disperse around me
         Am7
And I know these dreams are real
           Gm7        Dm7
Try to recognize Liquid Time
         Am7>Gm7>Dm7
Try to recognize Liquid Time

First Solo

Repeat chorus after solo

End this chorus "hanging" on the Gm7, the take it up to the Bd arpeggio and "space" it out

"I know you're watching me"
"I see you" etc

Long spacey solo with whammy

The chords should be played like this:

Dm7 can be played like a regular barre chord at the 5th fret and also sounds cool when you play like listed below played arpeggio during Intro
E----O----
B----6----
G----5----
D----7----
A----x-----
E----x-----

  Am7
E----x----
B----5----
G----5----
D----5----
A----x-----
E----5-----

Gm7
E----x----
B----3----
G----3----
D----3----
A----x-----
E----3-----

The C is cool played like this ( during intro and after he says "liquid time"):

E----x----
B----8----
G----9----
D----10----
A----x-----
E----x-----

and the "space out" Bd i'm referring to should be played arpeggio like:

E----o----
B----6----
G----7----
D----8----
A----x-----
E----x-----

all other chords referred to are regular barre

I agree Walker.. I was hoping to sit down with a guitar to try to make some sense of it but haven't had the chance to yet.

yeah see where he has a C?  thats what i was referring too as a Am7 (same with the Bb i refer to as Gm7).. so either way the diff is negligible.  however i am going off my memory of how i saw him play this tune at the electric factory.  trey often plays his M7's with his Ring and middle finger ... i caught this as my pop showed me that chord shape as a "cheat' years ago..either way its all good in the hood..

wasnt aware of this site ill have to check er out..
