Title: Windings per-coil in a 59'
Post by: Deadicated Phan on June 14, 2013, 06:55:30 PM
Hey everyone,

So im winding some pups for a guitar im working on and was wondering if anyone here knew the windings per coil in a Seymour Duncan 59'. Should be fun, and will be cool to adjust the tone a bit...

Hmm, not sure, but if you have similar parts (at least same gauge wiring) and a multimeter, couldn't you get pretty close by matching the 59's resistance?

Although I guess there are other variables, like how tightly its wound...

Ya, I thought just matching the resistance would work too, but the guy who's helping me do it (and actually knows what he's doing) says we need to know the number of windings.
