Title: ross distortion
Post by: sour d on September 24, 2009, 11:42:03 PM
I buy and sell pedals all the time and I just stumbled upon a really good one. Anybody have any experience with a ross distortion? I have the black box version right now. They came with the jrc4558 op amp chip in them. I'm more impressed with this thing than I was when i got my analogman od-9's. just curious if anybody else has tried them. Dead quiet when you stop playing no matter how high the level or distortion.

Never played it, but sounds interesting.  Can you get us pics (esp. of the guts)?

Is it a distortion or overdrive pedal?

Perfectley silent when I was playing through just that pedal into my blackface champ in the kitchen. i threw it on my pedal board after my ts9 silver mod and my bicomp and I was hearing the the noise from those pedals being on amplified. It has a great range though. Anywhere from clean boost to overdrive to distortion can be had. I think these were ross' annswer to the tubescreamers, distortion+, dod 250's. It is definetly going to take the place of my sd9 clone on my board. I recommend trying one.
