I haven't but you can't go wrong with the silver mod.

I had one. I got it for the opposite reason: I wanted something TS-like, but cleaner than a stock TS. It does get cleaner, but not completely clean with PAF style humbuckers. It also has more gain on tap. However, I'm just not all that impressed with boutique Tube Screamers - they simply lose the essence of a Tube Screamer: it doesn't have the midrange or compression for that thick tone and soaring lead. I love my vintage TS9's, but I'd go with a stock TS over the Red Dirt, personally, for a Trey-esque tone. If you want more gain, I'd stack two Tube Screamers, a la Trey, or use a boost in front of the Tube Screamer. An MXR Micro Amp would do just fine. I've been using an Ibanez GE9 as a clean boost when my TS9 is off, but it works to boost a TS as well.
ssooo yeah....i just ordered this pedal and can't wait to try it out!!!

How about the Maxon SD-9's? I've never played one but this is the description for them:
"An SD-9 is sort of like a TS-9 with more hair, they have a thicker, more saturated distortion sound which is great for leads or thick rhythm. Ibanez made these at the same time as the original TS9 (early 80s) and now Maxon is making them."

silver mod maxon OD-9 for fusion tones. Rockbox boiling point for everything else (the new green one, not the overpriced old one).
