CAE RS-10 switching system - question re: detaching the extender

Hey folks,

I just scored a CAE RS-10 via eBay (thanks sour-d!) and it came with the extender already attached.  Anyone have any idea how to detach the extender portion?  It's a sizeable unit with it on and I simply don't need the extra banks for what I'm doing.  

I've looked over the manual and can't find anything on this, and am scouring the interwebs but there really isn't much out there (that I can find anyways).  Anyone have Bradshaw's email by chance?

Tore this thing apart today and there is no way to disengage the extender (it's soldered to the main board via a ribbon of wires) so looks like I'm stuck with it. Ah well.
