I've been listening to Trey since I was 11 ;D, I picked up the guitar 4 years ago and here's 2 jams I recently recorded:
Jazz #1 which is in D major http://www.zumodrive.com/share/8xHbMDYzYW
Thunderstorm which switches between D phrygian and G major http://www.zumodrive.com/share/8xHkMGVmNT
I'm trying to recreate the Trey's jazzy sound on Junta and A Picture of Nectar and just ordered a 1983 Ts-9. These were recorded on my laptop using a Marshall Valvestate and my Mexican Stratocaster with lace sensor pickups.
Please give me your opinion of the songs.!

I enjoyed your jazzy stuff. It could use a little polishing but still very pleasant.
A side question: how do you like the Zumo drive? Is it free? Looks very user friendly.
Haha about that... these were all first takes I recorded the chords and the solo each in 1 pass, I know they're kinda rough but for demos I enjoy the raw emotion. And yes Zumo drive is very nice, the amount of space I use, 2 gigs, is free too!
Thanks man. Keep on jamming. I enjoyed it. Also I signed up for Zumo! Funny how things go off on tangents right?

You just have to know what to look for when searching ebay for tube screamers. Some people say they have vintage when they don't. Some people don't know what they have. I bought an 82 a while back for $60 because I could see a grey battery clip. I bought an 84 last month for $100 and resold it for $175 but it can be a gamble. You might get an early 80's one with the shitty 2043 opamp chip and not the 4558d. You just have to ask the right questions. Trey was also using ts10's as well around the picture of nectar time period. You might want to try one of those as well. They have a different sound to them.
Yeah I checked serial numbers, got a bunch of pictures, it had the right chip.

I always thought it was some old hippie caught another hippie tripping on acid.
