i would disagree ^ even in the early 90's phish had a very dedicated following. I would imagine it would be someone who quite specifically wanted to steal mikes custom. If it were some tripping kid surely it woud've been discovered/returned by now. Its either safely stored in somebodies basement or in a private collection.E Its not being shown off, but most likely kept like a secret treasure.

If you really want to know just ask Cactuskeeb  :P

you're probably right. Not being able to show off an original languedoc has to suck though.
All aboard for the tour, riding next to the truth...

^ that was just a rumor because he didnt bring his doc to rothbury.... However, he has gotten a new Doc from Paul that has much simpler control layout IE no mini toggles. So no, no one stole a guitar from Trey ever. Only mike had his dragon Doc bass stolen and it has yet to be recovered.

Yeah but I don't think he's got a new 'Doc b/c of the simpler control layout - those dual inductor switches aren't complicated to operate by any means.  What I'm saying is I wonder what the reasoning behind the new 'Doc would be...?  Maybe just wanted a new one?  But hey, weir getting ahead of ourselves b/c he hasn't even played it w/ Phish, so it may be a mute point and just a travel guitar afterall.

I assume Trey has at least half a dozen guitars built by Paul.  According to Trey, Paul just builds them for him and he (Trey) receives them without having requesting one in particular, except for the large one on stage at it, which Trey specifically asked for.  I've seen a picture of him playing a green one, as well as the one he played at coventry, which I believe was new at the time.  In terms of the large one played(?) at IT, that was discussed a long time ago when therhombus was still a functioning, indeed blosoming, forum on the net that was essentially the same as this one, except there were a lot more people involved (sadly).  If I remember correctly, the guitar was built because Trey wanted a fuller, more jazzy sounding guitar; however, I don't think he ever really liked it, because he hardly ever used it, and now we never see it.

I never said anything about why he didnt go with the mini toggles. Either way that is a new guitar, just call paul. Anyway, Iam debating ordering my own Languedoc next month :0) Cheers

Looks like the Ross has officially made it back into the rig.  Was just farting around on phish.com and recognized it in this pic: http://phish.com/news/index.php?year=2009#story415

You can clearly (not so much) see it positioned above the 2 TS's.
