Anyone else slightly disappointed by Mike's tone this tour?

I have to say... Trey sounds fantastic.  Sooooo good to have the old Trey back with us!

But Mike... his new tone is kinda buzzy and distorted - it's lost some the crystal clarity of the old days, now there's a sort of brittle crunch to the high mids.   It's strange, because he switched from SWR to Eden... SWR is known for more of a ballsy sound while Eden is known for being ultra clean and smooth - the exact opposite of how his tone has changed.

Check out the Lawn Boy from 6/6/09 Mansfield, MA for an extreme example...  it almost sounds like he's using a fuzz pedal.

No point to this... just seeing if I'm the only one who's noticed.

yeah hes using a TS10 with one of those terrible sub mic rigs on his cab. When they mix the crystal clear DI input on the board they mix in some of that kick drum mic thats on his cab and the end result is supposed to make his sound more full. Unfortunately, it seems to just muddy his tone unless hes using a certain effect combination. IMO alot of the problem with micing the cab is coming from that kick drum mic.
