I've been putting together a new rig over the past few weeks. I've ordered most of it and still need to get all the pieces in place. Here's what I've got at the moment:
Guitars:
Ibanez AS120, Fender American Strat w/ Custom 57's for pickups.
Amps:
1. Fender Hot Rod (will soon be my back up)
2. Carvin Tube 100 power Amp
SMS Classic Tube Preamp (on the way. It's being custom made and I'm like a 9 year old waiting for christmas on this thing! Check out their site: http://www.sarnomusicsolutions.com/products/ctp.html )
Avatar G212H Cab with Vintage 30's (also on the way)
Pedals:
Boss Tuner
Electro-Harmonix Qtron Envelope Filter
RAT Distortion
MXR Phase 90
Dunlop Cry Baby
MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay
I need to add a compressor and another distortion. I'm about 99% sure I'll be trying to grab a TS9. I'm not sure which compressor I want. I'm leaning towards the MXR Dyna Comp. I kinda need to keep it under $100. Any advice on this?
Anyhow, what do ya think? I'm pretty happy!
I personally didn't like the DynaComp when I owned one, but I've heard others here say they like them.
Hey Gabe - add your rig to your signature at the bottom of your profile. I think you can access it somewhere under your profile settings...
I have the Script Reissue DynaComp and Phase 90 in my rig and love them both.
The never dynacomps are terrible IMHO, check out guitar center's used gear section for the EHX soul preacher compressor. Although I hate guitar center with a burning passion they have pretty great deals. I think the soul preacher sounded pretty good, just be sure how to use it. I saw one on there for $14.
completly different chips in the Block Letter Dynacomp vs the Script...hardly the same pedal. Just sayin check it out...Analog Mike raves about it.
