I've got some time to kill before I get my Tight Squeeze compressor from Bone Picker Amps, so I figured to do a little mod on my CS-3 compressor. Yes we all know that pedal is kind of sad but for a couple bucks you can make it sound pretty nice. So I'll be doing the Ultra Plus Mod this week. I was going to sell the pedal but since I wouldn't get much for it, I figured to give it a second life. Monte gives you very descriptive instructions and also a bunch of legal threats if you share his instructions. So I can't tell you too much or he will sue me :P

That's a bunch of hogwashing mularkey right there. I'd tell to go ahead and try.
Yeah I've never seen someone so protective of his intellectual property if you want to call it that. If he is so worried, maybe he should just patent it, only do mods himself and weld the pedals shut. :P You won't stop people from being innovative and almost everyone copies something off someone else in order to evolve technology. I was just surprised when I got the pdf instructions and they were protected with a unique password and encrypted with my Paypal transaction info so if I post it on the internet, he can decode it and find out it was me that leaked. Crazy right. Maybe that's why he isn't the most prolific mod guy out there.
Coold dudes like Billm and others share everything upfront on their websites and if you want to do the mods and get parts on your own, you can. Not big deal.

Wow. That's almost irritating. You should print that PDF out. Scan it. Then post it just to prove a point.
Well I'm not going to mess around with trying, but just wanted you guys to know how he runs things. Believe me there is nothing special about these instructions. Replace capcitor here, replace resistor there, put chip in here. He shows you all the components on his main website anyway. It's not rocket science here. If I were him I would put the instructions as a free download then potential customers could say, "Gee I could do that" and just buy the kit soon after.
What I will do for you is tell you how the mod went and take a picture of my before and after along with a video of me demonstrating it. 8)

'Atta boy! 8)
Still waiting to get the parts for this mod^. I see that Garmopatmods has a similar kit and from what I've read, he is a more respectable dude. I should have shopped around first because I bet he doesn't threaten the lives of his customers. :o

According to the threats, it doesn't say I can't post pictures of my own work. I'm not giving out instructions or values here. Heck this may or may not be anyone's mod :P
No audio yet but I'll say it is quieter and more transparent and breathes more life. I have no way to compare this with any other compressor pedal.
lots more going on in there now ayy
