I got the urge the other day to download some funky jam and couldn't find anything I didn't have that I wanted.
I was hoping for something in the Phish, U-Melt, P-Grove vein of music (not surprisingly) and found a few things that were decent; iTunes genius has been suggesting the album Ton These by Raq and Heavy Pets' album Whale. They were pretty good, but didn't completely grab me.
I already have a ton of the Dead, Keller, String Cheese, Widespread, MMW, Sco etc.
What are you listening to?
I don't see any kimock on your list. Another epic band that comes to mind is "pardon me doug".
Yea, Kimock is cool, I don't have any actually. Some their stuff reminds me of the Dead occasionally, but definitely a fusiony thing going on there. I think I mostly reminds me of Jeff Beck though.
I don't know 'Pardon Me Doug' at all.
.moe has a free show up on their website. My first time ever listening to them was today. Good stuff
Based on what my iPod nano says (I'm a runner and weightlifter, it gets a lot of use)
25th Anniversary Remastered "So" by Peter Gabriel (most recent purchase), Vieux Farka Toure, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Ellie Goulding, Rubber Soulive, Raphael Saadiq, tUnE-yArDs, Dinosaur Jr, Fiona Apple, Stephen Malkmus... Lots of Stevie Wonder and Prince
Pardon Me, Doug is taking the world (or Portland) by storm. Fresh soundz!
Look into The Alabama Shakes - solid band. For jam stuff check out Boombox and Ultraviolet Hippopotamus. Here's a little of what's spinning on my shop mix lately:
Allen Toussaint
Steely Dan
Railroad Earth
The Infamous Stringdusters
Talking Heads
Allen Parsons Project
Chris Smither
Jim Croce
Little Feat
John Coltrane
MGMT
Old Crow Medicine Show
Stanley Clarke
Rolling Stones
Wilco
Bill Withers
Dr. Dog

Funky jam wise these come to mind.
Medeski Scofield Martin and Wood
Herbie Hancock - Man Child, Thrust, and Head Hunters album
Jimmy Herring Band
The Meters
Parliament
The New Mastersounds
Will Bernard - Blue Plate Special
Thanks guys! Some of those bands I know of or already have, others I need to check out.
A few that come to mind:
Little Feat
Miles Davis
John Butler Trio
I also agree with errbodies suggestions above....I gotta get some more music ::)
All bands above are great, but if your into reggae or would like to get into reggae, here's my favorites:
Peter Tosh
Third World
SOJA
Morgan Heritage
Bob Marley
Dennis Brown(has some good dub versions of Bob Marley songs).
Edit: Electronic music is always good if you wanna branch out and hear new things, but don't get caught into skrillex's mainstream bubble of shit. Here's some of my favorites:
Pretty Lights
Griz
Gramatik
Feed Me
Bassnectar
Opiuo(this guy has some serious funk step)
Zeds Dead

Walker you may be my doppelganger in terms of musical taste! Love Croce, he was such a badass... We do "roller derby queen" now and then... I play "Car Wash Blues" and "One Less Set of Footsteps" now and then... Wilco, Nels Cline... MGMT, Alabama Shakes... Talking Heads are in the daily rotation, I'm working on a cover to do with friends of "Kissing My Love" by Bill Withers... I learned "Night By Night" by Steely Dan last year, might be my favorite tune by them other than Peg or Reelin in the Years (anything of Aja too.. damn).... And I actually discovered Little Feat before I discovered Phish, no joke. I was at a used record store and got a copy of Dixie Chicken - HOOKED.
I know its a loaded question, but If I had to say favorite song(s), I'd have to include "Naima" by JC and "Roll Um Easy" by LF.
I've been listening to a ton of Broadway musicals lately, I was a theater geek on the down-low growing up. Here's a taste of what I've been diggin on...:
tUnE-yArDs
Antibalas
Albert King
Punch Brothers
Brian Eno, also the stuff he does with Robert Fripp
King Crimson (that would be the next obvious one)
Carolina Chocolate Drops
Curtis Mayfield
Hall & Oates
John Legend
Os Mutantes
Sam Bush, Sam Cooke
Dap Kings
Television
Legendary Shack Shakers
Van Morrison
Tool
Tom Waits
Rashaan Roland Kirk
Little Willies
and a ton of George Benson.... only good thing to ever come out of Pittsburgh other than Star Lake 97, 98, 99, 2000 & 2003
I find myself getting into new to me music through sirius radio. Best money I spend on a monthly basis.

TriC Jazzfest just announced... good one this year... Robert Glasper (4/20/2013 :) ), Lionel Loueke, Dr. John with Aaron Neville, Bill Frisell....
Come up to Cleveland and I'll show you a good time! I can probably get us some stage time at a local bar afterwards...
I just started a job last month where listening to 6+ hours of music a shift is common. Here's some of my new favorites
Bill Withers
Brian Eno
Zappa - yea he was neglected for a while
Gary Clark Jr
Lettuce
Neil Young and Crazy Horse's new album Psychedelic Pill
MOMADAN's got it on his list. LETTUS! I can't get enough of these guys since I've seen them at Jomeokee. The Archive also has over 100+ shows for you listening pleasure.
Awesome guys!
I listened through some of the bands on the list and everything was cool, whether it was the style I was looking for. I'm not real into the electronic stuff, though P-Groove does a good job, so did String Cheese on some more recent stuff and Umphrey's has some cool electronic tracks.
Although, I just spent the last of the money on my iTunes account on updating Garageband; only got to poke around a little, but it looks cool. I think it will inspire me to set up my recording gear again and maybe make some new tracks (not that I have free time). It looks like there are some new drum tracks for me to work with, which is awesome. On that note, Soundcloud has some new features (you might only have it if they offered you the beta) that helped me to find some cool drum tracks - the only problem people didn't list BPM on most of them.
