Title: More headroom for your TS-9
Post by: cactuskeeb on January 25, 2008, 02:58:18 PM
Little known secret (revealed): If you have one of the analogman TS-9/808's, Mike explains on his website that these are rated up to 12 volts (typical tubescreamer claims 9 volts max).  Get a generic boss/ibanez 12 volt power adapter and plug it in to your TS9(s), the difference in sound quality is remarkable... :)-~

Interesting....

And you've tried it?  And it doesn't fry it?

I read this about a lot of Mike's pedals. I have yet to try it.

Walker done done:
Yes, I use the 12 volt option for my ts9/808 silver, there's no chance of frying it; however, I can't say the same for other Ibanez TS9 or Maxon OD9 pedals--namely, the unmodded ones.

Nice - maybe I'll check it out then.  And you say you do have a silver modded 808 as well?  Cuz I do too...just wanted to be clear that I can use the 12v for that as well.  Thanks 4 the headies up

Just make sure it's 12VDC not AC output.
