So I've been living in NYC this year, and I'm right across the street from a guitar shop. I went in the other day to get picks, and wound up chatting with the owner for a while. Apparently Trey is a regular there. I also am probably gonna work there, the owner said I'd inevitably meet Trey multiple times if I chose to.
Anyone have a specific question for him?
Also that store has some beautiful old guitars - I played a 335 from 1961 he had and it made me want to sell all my possessions for it.

Out of those I'll probably bring up the 2nd jam, Dog Log, Have a Cigar, and that last bit.
I plan on asking for some playing tips and tricks/begging him to give me lessons for some reason.
Tell him he needs to be a speaker/instructor in a guitar clinic like he did back in 1995 (which most of us have the recording of). He could even charge money and most of us would totally be there. I think that would be awesome.
Ask'em why he shelved the Oce'Doc. It's a guitar shop afterall, doesn't seem inappropriate.

I was actually planning on asking something similar, about how he decides which Doc to play.

Hmm, I think asking too many questions may weird him out. I dunno I got that vibe when I met Derek Trucks and Warren, but they're nice guys to talk about other stuff with. Who knows though. I'd ask him:

-What do you do to warm up your hands before a gig?

Yes, of course i'm only going to actually ask a few of them. I'm just looking for suggestions and plan on asking whatever comes to my head in the moment but stick to only a couple questions - don't wanna bug him.
The most important question is why is his birthday wrong on the booking photo when he got arrested! It says 4/13/66 but his bday is in 9/30/66....or so we've been led to believe! Is it a conspiracy? Is 9/30 not his real bday? Was he ever really arrested? Inquiring minds need to know! LOL

Exactly which body parts did you get caught stealing when you got suspended from UVM? Did they smell kinda funky? Were they embalmed?

It was a goat heart and a hand if I remember correctly. He mailed it to his friend, with a note that said "I've got to hand it to you, you've got heart"
I guess I owe you an update. I did meet him once, but I said this:
"It's funny - you think a lot about what you'll say when you meet your idol and then when you actually do you're so awestruck that it's happening that you don't know what to say." He laughed and we talked about guitars in the store. He was cool.
I met him one time back in the early 90s 'they were just getting popular' and then sometime around 2006, both times he was actually very cool and down to earth.
I know this thread is kinda old but if you get a chance to talk to him again this is what I would ask:
"Is your Red Stripe a real 60/100 or simul-class?"
"what brand of power tubes do you use/prefer? "
I've been wondering these questions for years. Of course there's the whole crybaby -rmc3 thing also. Many speculations, but it would be great to hear it from Trey him self.
The simul - 60/100 is my 1st pick. I have a Simul-class and find it hard to believe he is using 15-25 watts?? He indeed has the switch set to half power in the recent rig shots.

Only saw this once, at Fenway, during TTE. Whatever happened to that green monster? Auctioned off or sold, maybe?
The Green Languedoc has appeared several times since Fenway. I remember seeing it briefly during the Cincy run in Fall 2009 and again in Miami the same year. Chances he sold it off or had it auctioned? Zero.
