Title: Getting a Plexi built in the next month or so
Post by: Down_With_Sco on January 20, 2016, 04:41:32 PM
For years I've wanted one but could never justify having one nor could I even afford one.... but having looked at Super Lead clones for about the last year, I've been looking at a number of brands, some of which go up into the $2k-4k range and of course is way too high for me. I'll probably get an Avatar Marshall style cab too since my Mesa cabinet of C90's is not ideal.

I was thinking of Ceriatone since they're so cheap (built in Malaysia) and seem to be highly regarded (their Dumble and Matchless clones sell like hotcakes) but after shipping costs.. why not just spend a few hundred more and get built in USA?

Any of you guys hear/play a Rockitt Retro (http://www.rockittretro.com/Rockitt_Retro_50_Page_2.php) amp before?

and no, the mark 3 will not be going anywhere anytime soon :)

I've heard that Rockitt Retro makes a killer plexi clone. I've only heard a Super Bass, but with CV123s it was Duane Allman land. Congrats!

I have been thinking lately that a cranked plexi would be really cool to have for an overdrive tone. But man, that is one pricey OD pedal.

The coolest things about plexis IMHO is how they react to your volume knob, if you have good PAF style pups it's almost a 2 channel amp - almost. For me, a 2 channel amp means it has to have seperate EQ
