Anyone else glad to see the Ross compressor go?

Strymon's jacks are in a different position (ie., power on the right rather then center).

It's a Way Huge Supa Puss.

From analogmike himself:

You guys really know your stuff! here's a bit more about the Supa Puss.

Trey uses it at low level, he's only using it for subtle lead solo trails. The dry/wet MIX knob comes up too fast for a subtle delay, it's really hard to get a low level delay. So I modified two for him and I hope that will help. He also got two more Silver mod TS9 pedals, some NOS ones I have been holding since Maxon made them, so they would be just like his others.

Thats exactly how I use my AD9.

I was just looking at a SP, too funny. My DD500 is too much delay.

Yeah, I looked at those when I sold my Strymon El Cap - the SP was just coming out.

Getting rid of the Ross in my rig would be a way huge mistake. No pun intended

No but for real, I love my Ross comp. And I don't care for it out of Trey's rig either.

Ross is still in Trey's rig, check page 1.

Personally I love my Ross and it's always on. Maybe it's just that my ear has become tuned to it, but I feel like it adds a lushness and richness to the tone that I just can't live without, and I've tried...I always come back to it.

Ross hiding in the back of rack unit on minimum sensitivity (not my picture):

I think that setting isn't too different than he often uses the Ross:

From some years ago.

I never said he changed the settings, I only thought he took it out again.

But yea the compression sensitivity seems to be at the same level (I think he should turn it to 9 or even 10 o clock again imo) it's been since 2010.

But do we know if it's even on ;D.  Also who knows,  could be modded for true bypass if he keeps it there but turned off.

Yeah - I wasn't saying you said he changed it, just generally that its at his lower setting again. Which still has a decent amount of compression in a Ross circuit, but I set mine at 9 o'clock.

That they do, I usually keep my sensitivity down all the way... I'll turn it up for songs like Gin and Black-Eyed to really squish it.

I'm with Sco. I always leave on my CMatsmod compressor at the minimum setting. It's just enough to help with the sustain. Anymore and i just start losing dynamics. I think compressor users tend to use stronger settings initially but as our ears mature to out tone, we find less is more.

Also I rely on an eq pedal with a nice mid hump, with the peak at 800 hz. That really gets the sustain just oozing out of my amp. I also keep my speaker 45 degrees from me and about 4 feet away. It's good for me to play a certain note and then position my guitar or shift my body to see where that note likes to resonate. Then try another note and do the same. It's really fun getting the fundamental harmonic going then lean over a hair and let that second order harmonic take over; now you are riding that next octave up.

Anyway I've been playing through a custom amp that my friend made from scratch. He is brilliant. It's based off of a Trainwreck but totally tailored for what I require. I'm in heaven with it.

Sorry to digress.
