Batteries in your pedals

Does it matter what kind of batteries you use in your pedals? Im starting to think so...

dont use batteries dude. there wasteful, expensive, and very bad for the environment.

get a bbe supacharger they are great! i have 3.

Do Daisy chains reduce the power quality? I have a Voodoo Lab but I need a couple more jacks, and was gunna use one of thos 3 in 1 things.

I think they do. From what I've been told, (by my good friend posternutbag) is that the key to powering your pedals is "isolated outputs". This delivers steady voltage to each pedal. Using a daisy chain would split up that voltage I would assume. I am also a BBE Supacharger user, and I absolutely love mine. It does make a big difference. I would also assume why poster uses two of them is for that very reason, but I don't want to speak for him either.....

ya mon, I got 2 in my giant rack, and 1 on the floor, powering 2 pedal boards.

they are like little tanks! only thing I might do is heatshrink the power cables the run off the main board, aside from that, its perfect.

just make sure youve got fuses for your amp, and power supply handy. shouldnt go out, but you never know after heavy use for years.

For all of my pedals that didn't come w/ a 9v jack option, I've had them modded to accomodate one. I would suggest doing the same to anyone who hasn't. Like poster said, there are many reasons why batteries aren't good. Plus, if you're playing a gig you can't afford to have a battery crap out on you.

I have an SKB pedal board with a bus of about 8 9volt jacks. I read somewhere that this is one of the few power supplies that doesn't get all whacked out and can deliver good constant power to each pedal. I've never hand any issues with it. Been serving me well for over 10 years. OK for a neophite.
