met a local guitar player tonight who uses these chinese made les paul copies from the above mentioned site, and apparently you can request mahogany, and it is in fact mahogany that arrives. same with a dual truss rod / stainless frets. yup i asked :0) unfortunately, the hardware is so bad, that this particular guy recommends buying an entire All parts set of hardware for LP before they even show up in the mail. pickups are junk, so no freebies, but sounds like still a pretty sweet deal for a big chunk of mahogany. too bad its coming from slave labor!
