Alright, heres the deal I have to get a new Cab, and I have about 1500 to drop on one. (or 1500 to drop on two) hah, But I know that strangedesign, you are playing the sister cab, and you said its dope, but I am now getting pulled in two directions, call tony Bruno, or just grab a fatty,
Help me out...

I haven't played teh Bruno cabs so I really don't know how to compare the two sound wise. I have on ly heard Trey's. If you are gigging a lot the Hard Truckers 2x12 cab is definately going to be smaller and easier to move around verses the Bruno 4x12. Personally I still would go with the HT. Though it is smaller you still get tremedous amounts of low end which I really like. I played with a Marshall 4x12 for years but the HT, IMHO, sound much better and not too mention it weighs half as much.

are the two 12's loud enough? i dont want to run through a mixer and out through a live sound speaker and i dont want to play out of a P.A. thats why i was thinking about the bruno, i would love a ht cab, but if it is going to require me to buy another one down the road then i might as well stick with a 4 12 cab right? correct me if im wrong

I guess it all depends on the rooms you are playing. For me the 2x12 is plenty loud but I'm not playing anything more then a small bar or a jam session with my friends in a practice room. If I was playing something bigger I would just mic the cab. Col Bruce and Bob Weir both play through just the one HT 2x12 and their sound is always excellent but they are using mics.

It's also going to depend on the amp you are using. I only have a super reverb but if you are pushing it with something bigger such as a twin reverb I really don't think you would be let down.

Because this is such a large investment I wouldn't just take my word. You should give Glenn a call over at HT and ask him these same questions. Glenn is a extreamly nice guy and a straight shooter. He is in this because he loves music and not for the money. I actually made a comment to him one time that I would get some banners up on this site and hopefully make him a few more dollars. His reply was, \"it isnt about money though, its about the tone and unlocking the vault of knowledge of jerry, trey et al's rig\" Just tell him you are a friend of Scott's from StrangeDesign.Org he he will do you right.

I hope this helps. Let us know what you end up purchasing!

Couldn't have said it better, I had the same type of great experience with him as well, and he's very knowledgable and happy to answer questions.

Does anyone know if Hard Truckers is still selling 2x12 Fattys? I've tried calling them and emailing them...email is no longer active and phone number bounces around before landing on a general voicemail, to which no one has replied. I'd love to get an HT cab, but I just don't know if they are available anymore. I'd appreciate some help!

strangedesign

try emailing Glenn directly. He should get back to you.
