Heady Jam Fan

I got the urge the other day to download some funky jam and couldn't find anything I didn't have that I wanted.

I was hoping for something in the Phish, U-Melt, P-Grove vein of music (not surprisingly) and found a few things that were decent; iTunes genius has been suggesting the album Ton These by Raq and Heavy Pets' album Whale. They were pretty good, but didn't completely grab me.

I already have a ton of the Dead, Keller, String Cheese, Widespread, MMW, Sco etc.

What are you listening to?
Headless Hollowbody > Mesa Boogie MK III > TRM Trucker 212 w/ V30's
Whammy 5 > Mini Wah > 74 Script Phase 90 > CP9Pro+ > 82 TS9 > 83 TS9 > Ross Compressor > Turbo-Tuner > 83 AD9

Yea, Kimock is cool, I don't have any actually. Some their stuff reminds me of the Dead occasionally, but definitely a fusiony thing going on there. I think I mostly reminds me of Jeff Beck though.

I don't know 'Pardon Me Doug' at all.
Headless Hollowbody > Mesa Boogie MK III > TRM Trucker 212 w/ V30's

All bands above are great, but if your into reggae or would like to get into reggae, here's my favorites:

Peter Tosh
Third World
SOJA
Morgan Heritage
Bob Marley
Dennis Brown(has some good dub versions of Bob Marley songs).

Edit: Electronic music is always good if you wanna branch out and hear new things, but don't get caught into skrillex's mainstream bubble of shit. Here's some of my favorites:

Walker you may be my doppelganger in terms of musical taste!   Love Croce, he was such a badass...   We do "roller derby queen" now and then...  I play "Car Wash Blues" and "One Less Set of Footsteps" now and then...  Wilco, Nels Cline... MGMT, Alabama Shakes... Talking Heads are in the daily rotation, I'm working on a cover to do with friends of "Kissing My Love" by Bill Withers...   I learned "Night By Night" by Steely Dan last year, might be my favorite tune by them other than Peg or Reelin in the Years (anything of Aja too.. damn)....   And I actually discovered Little Feat before I discovered Phish, no joke.  I was at a used record store and got a copy of Dixie Chicken - HOOKED.

I know its a loaded question, but If I had to say favorite song(s), I'd have to include "Naima" by JC and "Roll Um Easy" by LF.

I've been listening to a ton of Broadway musicals lately, I was a theater geek on the down-low growing up.   Here's a taste of what I've been diggin on...:
tUnE-yArDs
Antibalas
Albert King
Punch Brothers
Brian Eno, also the stuff he does with Robert Fripp
King Crimson (that would be the next obvious one)
Carolina Chocolate Drops
Curtis Mayfield
Hall & Oates
John Legend
Os Mutantes
Sam Bush, Sam Cooke
Dap Kings
Television
Legendary Shack Shakers
Van Morrison
Tool
Tom Waits
Rashaan Roland Kirk
Little Willies

and a ton of George Benson.... only good thing to ever come out of Pittsburgh other than Star Lake 97, 98, 99, 2000 & 2003
