My Whammy II is making crackling noises when I turn it on - maybe about half the time (I have it in a loop fyi), but it's barely usable when it crackles.  I took it apart, and besides a little dust, it seems clean w/ no rust or anything.  I don't know what to do from there, contact cleaner?  Where would I spray it?
Any help appreciated!

PS - If its in a loop, do you use the WET or DRY output jack?

THANKS

Don't know the answer to your 1st question but WET is the answer to the second.

Deoxit contact cleaner is a miracle spray!!  I had an old Ross Comp that didn't work at all.  A little cc in the pots and the input/output jacks...voila!!  Brand new!!  Whammy II's are pretty old, so it could probably use a little CC...hope that helps!!

I'll give it a try!  Thanks!

The input level pot could need to be sprayed as well as the input and output jacks.
