GT 6 is basically used as the whammy pedal. I only use the first bank -- the 4 patches that are: -2 oct, -1 oct, +1 oct, 2+ oct and the ctrl pedal will add a +1 octave on top of the lower octave stuff.

Guitar is an Equator Guitar. there's a 2+ year built time, but I got lucky and found one on ebay... which happened to be the exact guitar the builder features on his website as his mini series. The builders name is David Coleman, he's from the US but lives in Equador and builds them down there. Master, master guitar builder.

I use a Line 6 POD500 for whammy stuff. I just use 1 preset with Footswitches 1-5 being used for whammy. Footswitches 6-8 are volume pedals and effects loop. The GT6 is a great purchase.

Well I don't know whats up with yours. Looks like a bad neck repair to me or it wasn't properly maintained.

I bought mine only after seeing pictures, and It was being shipped cross country so I was naturally worried it was going to have issues or be structurally flawed... especially because it came with a hefty price tag. So, I brought it into a renowned luthier for inspection. He was extremely impressed with the craftsmanship and level of detail.. fretwork, neck, bridge.. you name it. I couldn't be happier with the instrument.

Haha - not jealous - and def not a hater - the pics I posted aren't mine, I don't own one. Yours looks like a killer guitar! I've only had the chance to play one and it sounded great and had a nice feel - the electronics were a little wonky, but nothing that couldn't be fixed. I just hate seeing some of the issues for the price of them. I know this topic has been beaten to death. I wish everyone gets the guitar of their dreams and expectations when spending any dollar amount.

I talked to David a few years ago but never pulled the trigger, had a custom Artinger made but didn't bond with the neck and sold it for a loss. I'm down to a generic Fender Amercian Standard Strat - not happy about that! I need a killer hollowbody.

Hey man, I have 2 electric guitars: the equator... and the same teal american strat that I played everyday for 10 years. No shame in that.

What's your signal path? Curious how you run all that and if you get any noise w/ that much gear.

Out of curiosity, what's the new price on those guitars? And what do they go for (ballpark) used? Has anyone tried to get a Languedoc lately? If the difference is a few grand, and the Languedocs hold their value better, I'd go that route. Although I've never played an Equator, so maybe theyr'e better (sort of hard to imagine. Paul's guitars are really, really meticulous and he truly is one of the great guitar builders).

There's a few models of these guitars and the wood types significantly impact the price. Like for full Koa add $1,200. But ball part range for a new mini is like $4,000-$5,000, standard is like $5000-$6,000. You can find them on ebay for about 20-30% less.

I get zero hum/hiss, except when the TS9s are on (which is normal).

Signal path is:
Guitar > Wah > TS9 >TS9 > Comp > Ernie Ball MVP Volume

Do you have any video clips or more pics of your Equator? I'd love to hear it. If you haven't checked them out yet on YouTube you should : The Lawn Boys. A phish cover band that plays a ton back east and he plays equators. I think David sponsors him or he gets them cheaper because he's had a few. He plays the normal Trey rig stuff through a Mesa Lonestar Classic (6L6) - great tone imo.

As far as resale - the Langedoc G2 can fetch more than original price of $10000 or $10500 with wood binding. I've heard offers to G2 owners as high as $15000. I actually never saw one sold or traded. The G4's can fetch the same as orinallly paid $7500-8000 depending on options. There was one on eBay that went for something like $7400 about 2 years ago, that's the only one I have seen for sale as well. They're extremely rare to come by.

I would summise that if 10/10 is a masterpiece guitar, Paul's are 10/10 and David's are 6/10. There are a TON of equator threads on The Gear Page.

I'm currently the owner of 2 Equator's. I've decided I only want to play hollowbody guitar's after getting into my first one and loving the way it reacts.

I think his work is getting better as he builds more guitars. Although I heard he's may be taking time off / throwing in the towel. He probably knows 2 years lead time is out of hand.

I think Equator's are fine guitars for what they are. Hand made guitars made by one man. If you look close enough you can find flaws. I've never inspected a languedoc so I can't speak for them.

This is my standard.

The only flaws I can find on this one is on the back of the neck joint there is some coloring issue. This also has a chunkier neck than my other mini.

The only issue with the equators is I have to clean the necks every other session or session. The finish gets sticky if I don't.

Both of these were purchased used at less than half what they go for new. Keep your eye open and haggle when you see one come for sale is what I say.
