My ts9 annoys the hell outta me sometimes. I like that warmth, but its not responsive enough; it sounds kind of flat if that makes sense and its not always very clear. I want articulated, clear, warm, notes that can sustain, not buzz kinda and fart off.

It needs LIFE!

oh yeah and Its got split personality too, like sometimes ill stomp it and be like ;D but then the rest of the time(read: most always) it sounds like >:( ???
wtf?

My buddy has a boss super od that sounds good, but he recently moved so i can't really try it out except for at guitar center, where they have a display with a crap squier > 30 odd boss pedals chained together> tiny shit amp so nothing really sounds great from anything. Though when he uses it it sounds real nice.

Can anyone reccomend any drive pedals that would be not retarded?
can you still have fun?

The new Maxon OD-9 with analogman's silver mod is the best overdrive pedal, period.

I haven't tried a clark gainster...but the guy asked for our opinions on the best overdrive, so I gave him mine.

I just looked up that gainster, and the description sounds just about exactly what I'm looking for thanks a lot man. Do you use it personally? It seems a bit pricey ($275) but thats most definetly worth it if its as good as it seems. Is there anywhere I can hear it first?

Ive heard too many people complain about silver mods, so i don't think I'm gonna go down that path, but then again I've only heard about modded ts9s not the maxons.

thanks guys

Lol I guess I should have figured you'd use it personally. But thanks for all that info, I'll probably be buying that gainster in 2-3 weeks.

thanks for enlightening me

lol I have no patience.

today I went to guitar center and to my surprise they had a fulltone full drive 2, apparently they just started carrying fulltones, and I tried it out and fell in love. So instead of waiting for the $$$ to buy the gainster I got this

This IS the tone I was looking for!

I think the gainster would have been great as well, but I got kind of weary about paying $275 for a pedal I've never played or heard. This thing did exactly what I wanted, but even better than what i thought I could find. It's amazingly versatile. And 100 bucks cheaper.

;D scuse me now, I'm gonna go play for the next several days without pause. Having perfect tone makes playing so much more fun. I hated having to always be adjusting everything while I'm playing.

I don't understand what the hell everyone likes tube screamers for....
