Lizards - What are the bass notes under the verses?

Anyone with better ears than me (and that includes most people!) know what Mike plays under the verses to Lizards?   It starts with a G-C thump under the intro, but changes to fit the chords once the lyrics start. 

Even a really clear recording would help a lot!
