Man shes so perty hope you still take her out for shows... I dont know if I could wail my hands away on that thing without worrying about leaving a scratch!

Meh...nice, yes, but it's not a museum artifact.  It's definitely going to be my main axe and will be at every show and practice I have. 

2 theories I have on that:

1.) you don't pay that type of money to have the thing sit around in a house or on a wall not being able to realize it's full potential.  Hell, even if I owned Tiger, Rosebud, et al I'd STILL play them out.  I'd just hire a brauny security escort to stand by at all times (assuming I could afford it!)

2.) it's a guitar...it's not meant to get wear & tear, but it's inevitable.  Scratches, dings, etc. are going to happen, it's just part of the game.  Hopefully when they occur they're either a.) not too bad, or b.) you have someone really talented (like AO) nearby that can pretty much fix anything. 

Regarding the new tailpiece, it was a delicate conversation, but I just told him I didn't like it and that I wanted a new one, and if that wasn't possible then I wanted to make sure my current one(s) would still fit.  A week later, viola!  He sent me new pics with a new tailpiece! 
Guitars: Resurrection Phishy Hollowbody (koa top/back, cedar sides, Schaller Golden 50 pups, 2 series/single coil/parallel switches), Gibson SG Faded, Dean Evo, Fender Tele, Ovation Acoustic, Fender Acoustic

Signal Path: Garmopat-modded Vox V847 wah > Emma Discumbobulator > TS808 silver > TS9 silver > Ross Compressor (grey) > Alesis Microverb (reverb) > Mesa Boogie Mark III with custom 2x12 AO cabinet (speakers: Tone Tubby & Emminence Commonwealth).

Loop 1: Whammy II > Nova Delay
Loop 2: Alesis Microverb (reverse) > Ibanez DM2000 > CAE Super Trem > Black Cat Vibe
Loop 3 Boomerang+
Tuner: Boss TU-3

just about anybody else's guitars, thats no big deal. but jerrys guitars are his customs. nobody else should be fucking with them.

I hear y'all.  I'm just saying if somehow they were left in your posession you wouldn't play them out?  Really?  If you had a band, you wouldn't bring 'em out with you?  Obviously this is a dumb conversation since it'd never happen, but WWJWYTD (what would Jerry want you to do?).....he'd say fuck it, play the damn things!

haha, good point.  this thread is too awesome to get hijacked by a hypothetical question anyway.  

So it's Wednesday, did you get any confirmation on shipping?  How long until you let me borrow it?  Can you ship it out on Saturday?

I know, I was just trying to be cool  ;D

I do, however, dig how the Wolf makes appearances here and there at various Dead/Phil shows. Those guitars should be played, and in the right hands--like Jimmy Herring's--I think it's great. Tiger and those at the Rock Hall will most likely never get out like that.

As for the original post--Benny, that guitar looks pretty damn sweet dude. THAT's why you don't stain Koa. Let me know when it gets here!

hey AO, could you elaborate on the high action on jerry guitars? I still dont really get that part of his tone. Does it simply let him pluck at the strings more for that banjo kinda ring, or what? Seems like it would mangle the chord hand after a 3 set night of mashing that shit down?

AO - umm...you around Saturday?  I have a ton of housework to do (priming/painting my decks) but may be able to slip out for a bit and swing up there with it.  If not, we'll shoot for next week (Wednesday maybe?)  I have that gig on Peaks Island next Saturday so I'll probably wait until after that to have you do the "official" once over on it as I do want to play it at the gig.  Fingers crossed that it doesn't need anything  ;D

For the most part.  I'm gonna bring it back next week and have him intonate it as only he can and also swap out the jack plate for a flat one (the recessed one won't fit my AO right angle super plug)
