PRS Hollowbody Spruce w/Piezo -> Thomas Organ Crybaby v847 Wah (garmopat modded)-> TS808 (Analogman True Vintage mod) -> TS9 Silver mod -> Analogman Bicompressor-> Analogman Mini Chorus-> Maxon AD80 Analog delay (Analogman TB mod)-> True Bypass Loop-> Boss RC20Xl Looper-> Fender Deluxe Reverb

The wah has Vox 847 internals in a Crybaby case, apparently made before Vox was distributing in the US.

I'll post some pictures once I get the rig put together, some stuff is still in the mail. Welcome any suggestions for further additions/changes. Considering a tuner in there, but my PRS plays in tune for weeks on end and I mostly play with standard tuning...

Guitars: Paul Languedoc, Matt Atringer, David Myka, Ron Thorn

Amps: '65 Princeton Reverb, Clark '59 Bassman clone

Welcome to the board!  That sounds like a sweet rig, I can't wait to see some pics.  It's always a good idea to have a tuner on hand, you never know.  How do you like the Boss Looper?

cheers.

I like it, I mostly just use it for practice...throwing down a chord progression then playing some scales or whatever over it. It's pretty user friendly once you figure out the timing. It does have a nice feature where it starts recording on the first note you play....then it's just timing the stop. Pretty easy to layer multiple loops. The drum synth is kinda cheezy sounding but better then nothing.

It doesn't suck tone much, but i figure best to isolate it from the rest of the chain since all the other pedals are true bypass.

Agreed, sounds like fine rig. Welcome.
Was just deciding yesterday whether to go with the boss looper or the boss dd7. I chose the dd7 (also has looping feature/hold mode) based on having two uses as well as just being one button to do the loops. Not as fancy but awesome for basic practice.

Have you done anything to your deluxe? Is it a reissue?

Yeah it is a Deluxe Reissue.

I'm tempted to have it looked at and possibly switch the tubes out. I don't know, it just seems noisy to me, even when I'm plugged straight to the amp. At volume level 3 there is a hum that is pretty annoying, and if I turn up the treble or bass past 3 the hum increases a lot , it is nearly intolerable. When I turn the volume up to say 5 gets progressively worse. I know my pick ups will cause some hum, but the hum is there even if the guitar isn't plugged in...

I bought the amp at Guitar Center and it was a floor model. I took it back to compare it to the new one they got in to replace mine, and I couldn't tell much difference between the two. But that's also Guitar Center with music playing loud and punks ripping heavy metal riffs in the background, not my quiet basement.

Any thoughts?

Humbuckers shouldnt cause any hum. You may have ground loop hum from your wall outlets, and also whatever you use to power your pedals. You need isolated power. Try using different outlets and plugging straight in. If it persists, go to radioshack with the fuse from the back of your amp and buy a packet of new fuses for about 2$ swap out your fuse. If you play everyday for an hour, your tubes will probably need swapping once a year. And when installed youll need to have your amp rebaised. When tubes go they snap crackle and pop, not hum. You could also have a loose ground in your amp from the fucktards at GC dropping it or from not waiting for you tubes to heat up in standby, or cool enough after playing before you move it around.

OH and dont shop at guitar center ever again. They are basically commissioned car salesmen. And yes, they are the death of real techs, luthiers, etc that are the true creators of epic tone.

LOL, agreed. I hate going in there.

Thanks for the tips.

I do agree with Poster on the noise issue, you should not get any hum from the deluxe. I would absolutely try some of the suggestions. I get hum when plugged into certain outlets. When I use my own power-strips it goes away. The only Time I even get a little noise is when I switch to single coils on the guitar, and even then its not much.

Anywhoo, looking forward to seeing a pic of your rig/and or guitar.

Turn the amp on and don't plug your guitar in and jack all the settings if it makes the noise there then poster is right and the amp has a bad ground or bad fuse or you have bad power from wall outlets.
If its only when your guitar is in I would check your guitar and cables. you could have a poorly soldered pickup...
Are you using TRS cables?

Cool, the fuzzy hum seems to be the same regardless of the outlet. I have the Amp plugged into a powerstrip surge protector. I was playing on 2 last night with my guitar volume down on 5 or so (wife was sleeping)...and the hum was almost louder then the guitar. New fuse seems like an easy  and cheap fix, hopefully that's it. I use Monster cables.

Some of my rig is still in the mail, so I'll wait to post pics. But here is my PRS.

keep in mind you should be using a rack conditioner for you amp and an isolated power strip for your pedal board. My isolated, steel enclosed Belkin strip costs about 220 used... You can get a cheap rack conditioner for maybe 50 bucks on ebay though.

Stiles12

You dont need a "rack" conditioner, you just need a power conditioner. You dont use any rack effects according to your post so buying a rack conditioner would be almost pointless. A lot of people use a lot of different things around this forum, i think the most widely used would be any type of Furman product

The most affordable power conditioners come in a rack stiles.

Stiles12

yeah you can get a cheap rack conditioner but if he dosnt have a "rack" that cost adds on... and for some reason racks arent cheap these days

Well actually 1 piece of properly cut plywood and a length or rack tape aluminum would run you about 5$ at home depot. A 4x4 art power conditioner can be found on ebay from 25-40$
